What happens to a drama when an actor gets involved in a controversy? Unfortunately, the whole production also suffers when stars are embroiled in a scandal. From recasting and filming to getting the broadcast delayed, dramas have to deal with the consequences of the actors’ wrongdoings.
Here are some dramas that suffered from their actors’ scandals!
The KBS coming of age series “Dear.M” marks NCT Jaehyun’s debut as an actor, which stirred buzz and excitement from fans all over the world.

However, the drama was delayed, postponed, and canceled at the last minute due to female lead Park Hye Su’s school violence scandal.
“Dear.M” successfully finished filming and KBS couldn’t just replace her. The cast members were also against refilming so as a result, the drama was put on hold.

The drama was supposed to air in 2020 and just recently graced the screen in June 2022. But, thankfully, the public received it well and even drew a positive response from the viewers.
Similar to “Dear.M,” the leading lady of the drama, APRIL Naeun, was also accused of bullying. The singer-actress was under fire for bullying her former group member Hyunjoo, who withdrew from the group due to anxiety and stress.

Because of this, “Taxi Driver” looked for a replacement, and actress Pyo Ye Jin was chosen. The drama was a success, and South Korean viewers believed that the scandal was a blessing in disguise.

The drama was renewed for a second season and is currently in the works. It will air in the second half of 2022.

Even though the drama had finished filming 16 out of 10 episodes, the production unit decided to replace the actor with top star Jung Woo Sung, the real-life best friend of Bae Seong Woo’s CEO Lee Jung Jae.
‘Trolley’ and ‘Bloodhounds’
Earlier this year, child star Kim Sae Ron was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol causing property damage.

Not only that, but the actress also tried to flee the scene. Because of that, Kim Sae Ron was heavily criticized by the public.
Due to her reckless actions, Kim Sae Ron’s upcoming dramas “Trolley” and “Bloodhounds” were dragged into the problem.

Set to be released this 2022, Netflix’s upcoming series “Bloodhounds” is in a dilemma whether to replace Kim Sae Ron or cast a new actress.
According to the production unit, the series has completed 80% of the filming. Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron dropped out of the SBS series “Trolley.”

Thankfully, the filming for the series hasn’t started yet, and the damage caused by Kim Sae Ron is extremely less severe compared to “Bloodhounds.”
