It is the saddest day in the musical world as the nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar has sadly passed away. The legendary singer’s sudden death has shaken the entire country. People from every state are taking to social media to express their sadness after learning about the news. Tributes and condolences messages and posts have flooded the internet as no one seem to believe the fact the singer is no more. The 92-year-old was facing health complications for a long time and on Sunday, February 6, 2022, she breathed her last.
Doctor Pratit Samadani shared the saddening piece of news. He wrote that with profound grief they are announcing the unfortunate demise of the veteran singer at 8:12 AM. Let us add that Pratit Samadani was treating Lata Mangeshkar at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. Sharing the sad news, the doctor further added that the singer died of multi-organ failure and that she was admitted to the hospital for more than 28 days after being tested positive for the ongoing virus on January 8.

Mr Pratit concluded the post praying for her soul. As her news was announced, celebrities, politicians, and other personalities paid her tribute. As per reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Mumbai around 4:30 PM to pay sincere tributes and respect to Lata Didi. Besides, Uttar Pradesh’s CM Yogi Adityanath, Home Minister Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, and Rahul Gandhi like politicians also shared emotional posts on Twitter consoling her death.
It is also reported that a state funeral will be accorded to the Bharat Ratna recipient. The government has also announced two-day mourning to be observed in memory of the legendary singer. To pay her tribute, the national flag will fly at half-mast for two days. The Queen of Melody was one of the greatest and most influential singers in India. Born on September 28, 1929, Lata Mangeshkar was also a music director and producer and had recorded songs in more than 36 Indian and a few foreign languages while she mainly sang in Hindi and Marathi.
Throughout her musical career, Lata Didi received several honours and accolades. She was honoured with Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 1987 while in 2001, she was awarded the Bharat Ratna which is the highest civilian honour of India. After M.S Subbulakshmi, Lata Mangeshkar was the second female to receive that award. Besides, she has won three National Film Awards and the list just goes on. Lata Didi contributed to the music industry with her melodious voice.
