Tim Rosaforte Career, what was his profession?

Tim began his career in 1977 with the Tampa Times, then went on to work for the Sun-Sentinel from 1981 to 1987, The Palm Beach Post from 1987 to 1993, and Sports Illustrated from 1994 to 1996. He then went to work for Golf Digest/Golf World, where he has worked since 1996. Since 2007, he has also worked as a contributor for the Golf Channel and as a commentator for NBC during the PGA Tour. He is one of the few journalists who can operate well in both television and print at the same time. Rosaforte was president of the Golf Writers Association of America for a time.

Tim’s works include The PGA Tour (1990), Heartbreak Hill: Anatomy of a Ryder Cup (1996), Tiger Woods: The Making of a Champion (1997), Raising the Bar: The Championship Years of Tiger Woods (2000), and the 1998 World Golf Hall of Fame Yearbook, which he co-authored with Jaime Diaz. He has been a correspondent on over 140 professional tournaments and over 15 Ryder Cups since the 1980s, making him a true expert in the field. He’s worked on USA Network, SportsCenter, and even the Today Show as a commentator. He’s written for Golf Illustrated and Links Magazine, among other publications.

In December 2020, Rosaforte was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. And, contrary to popular belief, he does not have cancer. For the past two years, he’s had memory issues. Tim Rosaforte, one of America’s finest golf journalists, passed away from Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 66.

Due to cognitive difficulties, Rosaforte left the Golf Channel in December 2020. Rosaforte was invited to the Nantz Alzheimer’s Institute in Houston by CBS announcer Jim Nantz in November 2020 to seek alternative treatment. Rosaforte’s condition was confirmed by tests at that time. Doctors, on the other hand, decided that it was preferable not to start him on any additional medications.

Prior to his diagnosis, he had worked as a reporter for the Tampa Tribune, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the Palm Beach Post, Sports Illustrated, and Golf Digest.
