Zamfara police command rescues over 24 kidnapped victims, including students

The Zamfara State police command has rescued twenty-four kidnapped victims within the State.


Addressing newsmen on the State Police Command in Gusau, the State commissioner of police, Mr. Ayuba Elkanah mentioned with the help of the State Authorities, Police Tactical Operatives deployed to completely different areas of the State have succeeded in rescuing twenty-four kidnapped victims in Shinkafi and Tsafe Native Authorities Areas of the State.



Amongst these rescued are the 4 college students of Authorities Day Secondary College Birnin Yero in Shinkafi Native Authorities Space who had been kidnapped whereas writing their WAEC exams and one different pupil of Federal Polytechnic, in Kaura Namoda Native Authorities space of the State.


Elkanah mentioned: “On Nov. 22, at about 1900hrs, Police Tactical Operatives deployed on Shinkafi axis, whereas on search and rescue operations, with regard to abduction of the scholars and different victims, acted on intelligence and rescued the scholars, together with eight others.



“The victims, who spent 60 days in captivity, have now been rescued unconditionally.”
