Pregnant Philadelphia woman shot dead while unloading gifts after her baby shower

A pregnant girl unloading her child bathe items was fatally shot on the road in Philadelphia this weekend.


Philadelphia police stated the 7-months-pregnant girl was shot within the head and abdomen after attending her personal child bathe Saturday evening, Nov. 20.



She had simply returned house from her bathe Saturday evening and was unloading items from her child bathe to take into the home when she was shot.


In an announcement, the Philadelphia Police Division stated the 32-year-old was shot about 8:35 p.m on the 6200 block of Palmetta Road.


Officers took her to Einstein Medical Middle the place she was pronounced useless at 9:06 p.m. and her unborn youngster was pronounced useless about 10 minutes later, police stated.



Deputy Police Commissioner Christine Coulter informed KYW the pregnant girl had been carrying child bathe items when she was shot.


“Gunshots have been heard, There was an officer a pair blocks away who heard the pictures. After they got here right here, they found her shot a number of instances,” Deputy Police Commissioner Christine Coulter informed reporters, decrying the epidemic of gun violence. “The individual that did this could not be extra cowardly.



“Town as an entire is doing what we will,” Coulter insisted. “We will’t cease people who find themselves intent on capturing someone.”


No arrests have been made in connection to Saturday evening’s capturing and no weapons recovered, the division stated in its launch.


Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney tweeted Sunday the town is providing a $50,000 reward for data resulting in an arrest.

“This information is deeply upsetting and heartbreaking. My coronary heart goes out to the sufferer’s family members throughout this painful time,” Kenney wrote.


Commenting to KYW on gun violence within the metropolis, Coulter stated extra wanted to be carried out.



“We’re doing every little thing we will, we have report numbers of weapons off the road however we’re all the time trying to do extra,” she stated. “We’d like all people within the metropolis together with elected officers, cops and each individual that lives in each house in Philadelphia to get as indignant as they’ll about this.”
