The disclosure was made by Dr. Kayode Fasasi on behalf of the Fasasi family in a statement.

“It is with sad hearts that we announce the death of our multitalented veteran singer, rapper, and composer Olanrewaju Fasasi nicknamed Sound Sultan,” he added.

He died at the age of 44 after a long fight with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma.
“He is survived by his wife, three children, and his brothers. We, his family, would appreciate complete privacy as we cope with this terrible loss.”

Sound Sultan had responded to news of his cancer diagnosis in May by writing on Instagram, “I cannot disregard the overwhelming display of love.” Thank you all so much.

“I will tell you my tale, and it will be truthful rather than false.”
