The truck accident that killed two men and injured six others in Imo State
On Saturday morning, a truck carrying chippings crashed into the market, killing two men and injuring six people in the Imo state.
About noon, the accident occurred near Nkwommiri market, close to the Nwangele River for the Umuozu community.
According to the police statement, the truck from Ebonyi state lost control because of brake failure while driving down a hill.
During the accident, the driver jammed two motors, and one Keke fell into the river while chippings were thrown on some of the victims.
The local media reports that ten people have been killed, but police deny that is true.
Federal Road Safety Corp Imo state sector head, Adekoye Joshua, told BBC Pidgin that those who hurt are admitted to hospital whilst the dead are laid to rest in the morgue.
The road seems to be open for motorists, while the police claim the driver was arrested.
