Iyabo Ojo, a popular Nollywood actress, in response to the news that Baba Ijesha has been granted bail, said that she will not back down until justice is served.
For over two weeks, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, most popularly referred to as Baba Ijesha, has been detained by police on charges of child abuse.
On the other hand, Ojo, who has been at the forefront of the situation, demanded justice for the minor, who is the foster daughter of her colleague in the entertainment industry, the comedienne Princess.
Earlier this week, the actress and comedienne staged a protest at a police station after learning that the alleged child molester would be released.
In response to recent reports that Baba Ijesha had been granted bail, the actress said she was glad the matter was handled properly.
The woman expressed her concern over the fact that the person involved is a celebrity and the matter might have been swept under the rug.
“There have been people that have been asking questions,” Iyabo Ojo said on her verified Instagram page. It was initially because they wanted to release Baba Ijesha and scrub the matter under the carpet, that why we went to Panti to see the Police. We asked questions such as: “Whose approval is this order? What are the bail conditions? Who represents him?”

“We did not receive a reply, and when we went there, we were told by the guards there that he was still incarcerated and was not going to be released.” If they were going to release him, we needed to make sure they released him appropriately. Those actions against the girl need to be held accountable. “We shouldn’t expect them to release him and sweep his case under the rug, then we will have to start searching for him and nobody can vouch for him.”
“The conditions they have put forth for his release are all quite understandable since he not met all the items. As a matter of fact, someone has been standing in for him, and at the end of the day, when the court meets, the matter goes to court.” It is extremely important that they do it the right way, which is not something that can be taken for granted.” Unlike before in which they swept the issue under the rug due to his being a celebrity and some people having sympathy for him, things have changed. If it comes to children, sentiments are not something I believe in.”
“I will not back down from this, I am going to court. The court case has already been started. Any person who comes to my page and says some things doesn’t move me at all. Our expectations have been met. This issue should not be swept under the rug. The normal process is already underway. It is useless for you to come to my page and say that you don’t like it, because I will block you.”
According to Iyabo Ojo, she chose to clarify the matter because some people were confused.
