Yomi Fabiyi: Good and bad about the Yoruba Nollywood actor and why he’s trending on social media
Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi is in the spotlight because of his position regarding an alleged rape that involved another Nollywood actor, Baba Ijesha.
After the actor’s arrest, he was accused of sexually molesting an underage girl when she was seven years old. Yomi Fabiyi announced that people should not jump to conclusions because the case is still with the police what he told Sparklight other actresses that as been molested back in their childhood.
“In the police statement, they mention CCTV footage. However, the content of the footage was never made public, and none of our association’s representatives or any close associate, to the best of my knowledge, has seen the footage; none have we heard directly from the suspect, none his representatives.”
“Unless there is clear evidence, confession, or a court case where the defendant was convicted, it is malicious and premature for any or colleagues to draw conclusions. Popularity has its responsibilities. Please understand and be patient.”
Last but not least, child abuse, rape, and sexual harassment are grave issues that no decent person would tolerate or support.
Nonetheless, it is better to be cautious than sorry for the majority of our society. I still have faith in the professionalism and integrity of our Detectives and Police Officers, and they go after whoever they find themselves on the wrong side of the law.
