The Department of State Services has denied torturing Sai’du Afaka, the President’s official Driver, to Departure. It explained a report with an internet news moderate, Saharareporters; it tortured the dead person as misleading.
The news website was reported that Afaka tricked the President, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) Into approving a multi-million naira contract that was later discovered from the DSS.
It further stated that the Service detained Afaka, tortured and then dumped him in the State House Clinic, at which he fell.
However, the DSS spokesman, Dr. Peter Afunanya, in an announcement on Wednesday night, branded,’ President’s official driver not arrested or tortured by DSS,’ stated the secret police didn’t participate in torturing of suspects and requested the people to”dismiss the bogus news spewed from the internet platform.”
In other words, “While the stated driver wasn’t arrested or detained by the Service, it’s an established truth that it doesn’t torture suspects. Its defendant handling technique is generally in compliance with all the tenets of the criminal justice management system and democracy.”
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, had on Tuesday announced that Afaka dies “following a protracted illness.”
Besides, he expressed the condolences of the President to his loved ones.
